Poetic Movements

Lying safe in hugging hands. The shopping list from yesterday left on the table. A night’s drive and back. Dreaming together in the mornings. Waking for the day and not for its work. The eyes see ideas instead of fine weather. The fingers type words instead of touching flowers. The mind bears deadlines instead of tracing the circles of the sun. The journey is narrated instead of orchestrated. Utopia is to read the newspaper peacefully under the evening sun. 11-14 April 2018, Samothraki.

Χαϊκού (ή χοκκού) : “ Ιαπωνική ποιητική στροφή που αποτελείται από τρεις, ανομοιοκατάληκτους στίχους των 5 -7 -5 συλλαβών. Το χαϊκού συχνά περιλαμβάνει μία ή περισσότερες (ποιητικές) εικόνες που αναπαριστούν την ουσία μίας συγκεκριμένης στιγμής στο χρόνο” ( Poetry Foundation ). Στο σεμινάριό μας χρησιμοποιήσαμε μία φωτογραφική εικόνα για κάθε τρίστιχο χαϊκού. Εστιάσαμε στην απόδοση της “ουσίας της στιγμής” της φωτογραφίας, αλλά, ακολουθώντας σύγχρονα ρεύματα, ξεφύγαμε από τη δομή των 5 -7 -5 συλλαβών. Ακολουθεί το υλικό μας! (I) The foreigner’s smile promises ascending the rooftops to the stars.     (II) Flames in your hands tell the story of the wandering enchanter. (III) He lights up the hopes that call you at home.   (IV) Warm doors take you in chastise and cherish the night’s eluding escape in you.
